CoronaVirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a viral disease originating from Wuhan, Hubei province, China, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The official narrative of the origin of the virus is that it originated in bats sold in a local wet market, or in illegaly imported pangolins in the Guangdong region. Many people have found this theory unlikely, as the Wuhan Institute of Virology is located only a couple kilometers (a couple 0.6214ths of a mile) away from the supposed origin of the virus. Scientists have found similar coronaviruses in the local bat population, but are still struggling to find an exact instance of SARS-CoV-2 in bats.
